The prolonged deadline for the linkage came to an end on Monday, April 4, 2022, and caused disconnected subscribers to troop to the nearest National Identification Management Commission’s (NIMC) office to have their lines unbarred. However, many have been unable to link their SIMs as NIMC seems to be unable to verify NINs. According to Premium Times, over 7.5 million MTN subscribers are yet to get their NINs verified by the NIMC.
